2014 Combine Wide Receiver 40 Yard Dash Times

2014 Combine Wide Receiver 40 Yard Dash Times

Per CBSSports, 40 Yard Dash times are in for the Wide Receiver position.  Brandin Cooks of Oregon State posted the best time at 4.33, followed closely by John Brown of Pittsburg State who put himself on the map by posting a 4.34.  Cooks most likely raised his draft stock here, although teams were expecting an athletic specimen.   Unfortunately highly anticipated LSU wideout Jarvis Landry injured his calf and could not finish the event.  Other high profile wideouts Jared Abbrederis, Odell Beckham, Sammy Watkins and Jordan Matthews all posted very solid times.  2014 looks like an excellent draft class for wide receiver.

2014 Combine Quarterback Forty Yard Dash Times

2014 Combine Quarterback Forty Yard Dash Times

The 2014 Quarterback class is working out at the NFL scouting combine and the preliminary 40 yard dash results per CBSSports are in.  It was originally widely reported that Johnny Manziel ran a 4.56, but the “official” time came in at 4.68 which is good for a QB but not incredibly impressive.  Other notable times include Tajh Boyd running a surprisingly slow 4.84 and Logan Thomas running a 4.61 as the fastest QB.  Thomas most likely improved his draft day stock with a decent 40 time.  Connor Shaw of South Carolina was also impressive athletically and could see increased interest in may.
